Greg Macintyre
CEO | Principle Registered Nurse Greg has been the CEO and Principle Registered Nurse since 2017 when Connecting Communities was established. He has an array of nursing experience with specific interest in intensive care nursing and 10 years of practice in community nursing. He also has a background in first aid training, and disability employment using this skill set to establish Connecting Communities, alongside Richard. Greg enjoys being part of a team that assists clients in achieving their goals and helping staff learn and improve their skills through proactive training.
In his spare time, Greg is a green thumb and loves working in the garden. He also loves watching funny YouTube videos. |
Richard Roe
Executive Richard has been working within the health and management sector for more than 20 years. He, alongside Greg, established Connecting Communities which has been a journey he is incredibly proud of. He has also had the opportunity to step back and observe the workforce within Connecting Communities, bringing immense joy seeing the services provided to the community.
In his spare time, Richard enjoys cleaning his house and finding new cleaning products to try out. He also enjoys cooking, and uses baking as a way to retreat and relax. |
Tyler Haines
Manager | Accounts Coordinator Tyler has been working with Connecting Communities since its inception in September 2017, after being a student of Gtec Training and Development and completing a business traineeship with the organisation. He oversees the organisations financial management portfolio, ensuring our clients get the most out of their NDIS plan. Tyler enjoys seeing the positive impact his work has on the clients lives. Sharing and being a part of those moments is very special.
Tyler is an avid sports enthusiast, with particular interest in UFC and Rugby League. In his spare time, he enjoys going to the gym and staying fit. |
Sheridan Toll
Team Leader | Endorsed Enrolled Nurse Sheridan has been working as one of our Team Leaders and Endorsed Enrolled Nurses since 2022. She thoroughly enjoys being out in the community helping our clients to remain in their own homes, and supporting their independence as much as possible. She has been able to meet some amazing people through her work at Connecting Communities and finds this to be a rewarding part of the job.
You can find Sheridan enjoying a long walk on the beach in her time off. She is also a big V8 supercars supporter and enjoys watching the races live. |
Samantha Hann
Team Leader | Endorsed Enrolled Nurse Sam is one of our Team Leaders and Endorsed Enrolled Nurses, coming onboard in January of 2023. She loves being able to assist her team of support workers as they deliver quality care to clients, meeting their goals in a holistic manner. It brings her immense joy to see the smiles on the clients faces when they achieve their goals and feel a sense of pride in doing so.
When not at work, Sam enjoys arts and crafts. She also enjoys creating new projects in her spare time. |
Tracey Best
Team Leader Tracey has been working with Connecting Communities since 2019. She started as a support worker and worked her way up as a Team Leader, where she coordinates her team of support staff. She thoroughly enjoys meeting clients, supporting staff, and furthering her knowledge through training courses.
In Tracey's free time she loves painting, upcycling furniture, and spending time with her cat, Max. |
Barry Baker
Team Leader Barry has been working with Connecting Communities since January 2021, where he started as a support worker. He worked his way up where he was working as one of our Senior Support Workers, providing supports to both his clients and his in-house team of support workers. Barry has more recently stepped into the role as one of our Team Leaders, where he thoroughly enjoys seeing his clients succeed towards their goals and improving their lives.
In his spare time, Barry likes to keep busy with a variety of hobbies. He enjoys playing sports and riding his motorbike, watching football and listening to music. He also enjoys going camping to relax and recharge on the weekend. |
Hayley Connell
Human Resource Coordinator Hayley has been working as our Human Resource Coordinator since December 2021. She thoroughly enjoys meeting new people, of which she experiences frequently at Connecting Communities. Ensuring she knows the clients and staff on a meaningful level, making sure they are a good match is an integral part of her role.
When Hayley is not working, you will usually find her in the garden with her desert roses and fruit trees. She also enjoys being out on the water fishing, and spending time with her dogs. |
Amy Edwards
Administration Amy works as Administration for Connecting Communities and has been since January 2023. She enjoys meeting new people, and learning about the responsibilities involved with providing meaningful supports. Amy is due to finish her studies at JCU, with a Bachelor of Business and a Bachelor of Psychological Science at the end of 2023.
In her free time, Amy loves playing ultimate frisbee. She also fosters dogs, and enjoys training them for their new homes. |
